WHO?

Hello, my name is Nela! I am a Grade 11 student and I am the founder of this blog who, in the future, will be working hard to create and post content for you to enjoy.

For all the non-readers out there, don't be discouraged by the sight of books 😄 This blog will be filled with practical information that will help you make the best decisions regarding careers or jobs and will come with section headers to help you easily find the information you're looking for. So even if you don't like reading, the information you will find in the blog will (definitely) be well worth it. (There could be some awesome giveaways as well...)

Here are some of the questions you may have about the platform.

Is this content only helpful for students?

No! The information on this site is helpful for people of all ages, whether you are currently looking for a job or simply interested. If you know of other people who might be interested in this, let them know so they can learn as well!

What kind of information will be available in the posts?

When I interview the companies, I will be looking for information on topics like:

• Company Description (what does the company do/provide?)

• Various Job Descriptions/Duties

• Education/Age Requirements

• Opportunities for Advancement (promotions, etc.)

• Company Culture (why is it a great place to work?)

• Employee Benefits (what perks do employees receive?)

(If you think of other things I should ask about, feel free to contact me to let me know)

How and where are you getting this information?

I will personally speak to people within the companies to get the most reliable information to share on this blog.

When and how often can we expect new content?

I'm hoping to be able to post once a week. However, I am starting Grade 11 in the fall of 2024, which will be my top priority so it may be hard to keep an exact posting schedule. However, I will do my best to balance both school and the blog.

What if the business I'm interested in isn't featured on the website?

If there is a business you would be interested in reading about, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I will try my best to accommodate requests. 😀

WHERE?

The businesses I will interview will be in the Taber / Lethbridge Area.

WHEN?

During the summer, I will work towards building the foundation for the platform as well as getting started on the interviews to have a few ready to post by the start of the next school year. At the beginning of the next school year, I plan on launching the platform.

WHY?

I took an entrepreneurship dual credit course through Lethbridge College this school year. The professor challenged me to solve a problem within the school to practice developing business ideas and build the right mindset to start businesses. I realized that most students are unsure about what career to pursue after high school and they don't have a place where they can learn about many careers and businesses all in one place. I decided to create a platform to solve this problem and came up with the idea for Career Ace.

Well, those sections will likely give you a good overview of the platform I'm building. This is my very first post and it is a bit nerve-racking to start a project this big, but I'm hoping for a lot of support.
